What are titratuons used for?
finding out concentrations
What is the method for the experiment for titrations?
-using a pipette add a set
volume
of the
alkali
to a conical flask. Add 2 drops of indicator
-use a
funnel
to fill a burette with the acid and record initial volume
-use the burette to add the acid to the alkali a drop at a time and give the council flask a regular swirl
-when the indicator has changed colour all the alkali has been neutralised
-record the final volume in the burette and calculate the volume of acid used
You should
repeat
titrations to find the
mean volume
