  • how are red blood cells specialised
    dimple to carry more oxygen, no nucleus to allow more space for haemoglobin
  • Sperm cell
    Flagella for swimming through the uterus, extra mitochondria for more energy, head is pointed and is covered in an enzyme that helps break into the egg
  • Root hair cell
    elongated to increase surface area to absorb water and nutrients from the soil
  • nerve cell
    Large surface area, covered in Milon to stop electricity going anywhere else, the axon allows for electrical impulses
  • Muscle cell
    Lots of mitochondria, able to contract quickly, long to give them space to contract
  • Phloem
    Sieve cells, sieve cells allow some stuff to go through, carries water and food, goes two ways
  • Xylem
    Thick walls, doesn’t have walls between cells, carries minerals and water, one way
