• Features of blog: usually single author, readers can add comments but not edit blog, reverse chronological structure, usually personal, external links
• Features of social network sites include status updates, message boards, private email and video conferencing
• Social networking sites allows users to interact and communicate with each other
• Wikis are software allowing users to easily create and edit webpages using any web browsers
• Wikis will support hyperlinks and has simple syntax for creating pages
• Features of wiki: many authors, structure determined by content and users, internal and external lins
• World Wide Web (WWW) is part of internet
• File transfer protocol (FTP) is a network protocol when transferring files from one computer to another over the Internet
• Internet service provider (ISP) is a company which provides internet access to users. Broadband connections tend to use fibre optic cables for increased bandwidth
• Hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP/HTTPS) is the rules which are followed when transferring info across internet
• A passive attack involves release of email material to other uses without their consent
• An active attack involves modification of user's messages or even denial of service
