Characters - the people, animals, or inanimate objects
Protagonist - the main character in the story
Antagonist - stands against the protagonist
Setting - the time & location in w/c a story takes place
Plot - a planned, logical series of events having a beginning, middle & end
Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, Denouement - parts of plot
Exposition - the part of the story where the characters & the setting are revealed
Rising Action - this is where the events having a beginning, middle & end
Climax - this is the highest point of interest & the turning point of the story
Falling Action - the events & complications begin to resolve themselves
Denouement - the final resolution of the plot in the story
Point of View (POV) - the perspective of the writer in narrating the story
First-Person pov, Second-Person pov, Third-Person pov - modes of POV
First-Person pov - the narrator is involved in the story. (I, Me)
Second-Person pov - the readers actions are narrated. ( You, Your)
Third-Person pov - the narrator is outside of the story. (he, she, they, them)

Effect - happens after cause, tells us What happened
