  • Hypertext - structure of text that are interconnected through links or nodes allowing the reader to jump from one text another with a single click
  • Intertext - the relationships between text that are not necessarily interconnected through links but rather through references, allusions, citations, or other forms of intertextual exchange
  • Explicit claims - they are obvious apparent and directly stated in the text
  • Implicit claims - not expressed clearly or only suggested
  • Claim - is a statement that is not considered accepted by all. Usually related to one side of an issue, also called position
  • Claims of fact - relate to the statements that can be verified
  • Claims of value - evaluative statement. About which is better. What is good or bad
  • Claims of policy - are all about what should be
  • Evaluative statement - way of giving better explanation to show the strength and the weaknesses of something through writing
  • Academic writing - its main purpose is to inform and persuade
  • Academic Writing - writing tends to be longer with complete sentences and paragraphs
