Salt or sugar solutions on the mass of a tissue

  • Method
    1. Use cork to cut out 5 potato cylinders
    2. Measure the length and mass of potatoes before experiment
    3. Remove all original water from potato cylinders
    4. Add potato cylinders into the 10cm of sugar solution (x4 with different concentrations) that was measured and leave cylinders overnight
    5. Remove potato cylinders from each testing tube
    6. Calculate percentage change of each and plot results on a graph
