    • Mother reported they had never seen Albert in a state of
fear or rage and practically never cried

    • Third time bar was struck he broke out into a sudden crying fit – the first time that being in a lab produced fear or crying
  • Session 3

Played happily with blocks but when shown the rat he immediately responded with fear, indicating he retained his conditioned emotional response to the rat.

    • Dog nor coat gave as an extreme reaction
    • No fear shown towards cotton wool or Watson’s hair
  • Session 4

•Before ‘freshening’ Albert’s response to the rat, rabbit and dog were less extreme than before in the new
    environment
•After – the conditioned fear response was stronger
•He always played happily with the building blocks – demonstrating a distinct learned response persisted
    towards the fury objects
  • Session 5
    • Albert responded to the test objects in a clearly different way to the control objects (the blocks).
    • His reaction to the fury objects was not as extreme as previously but he clearly avoided them, whimpered and on occasions cried.
