    Giving a speech on the spot without any preparation/the giving of a speech on the spur of the moment

    speaking about something committed by memory

    write out the speech and then speak it out to the audience word for word. It's the most difficult type of speech delivery to achieve conversational quality.

    a mixture of speaking from memory and manuscript. It is the best type of speech delivery to achieve conversational quality.

  • What is immediacy?
    when the presenter is completely focused on giving the presentation or speech and minimising external distractions
  • What is directness?
    keeping the speech on the main focal point and sticking to the alotted time
  • What is attentiveness?
    analysing the audience (demographic characteristics) and the environment in which the speech is given. Attentiveness can be achieved by the following:
    1)picking a topic that is relevant
    2) conducting the necessary research and preparation for the speech
  • What is conversational quality?
    giving a speech as though you're having a conversation with the person. conversational quality can be achieved by the following:
    1)using contractions- words like don't, can't, isn't
    2)using simple language
    3)using an outline but committing certain parts to memory
