gifts of the holy spirit

• the gifts of the holy spirit are Fear of the lord, piety, fortitude, counsel, knowledge, understanding, wisdom
• the fruits of the holy spirit are Joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, self control, humility, generosity, modesty, chastity
• piety came from the word pious which means to live a religious ife
• the three gifts that refers to the virtues of will are the gift of piety, fortitude, and Fear of God
• wisdom is the desire for the things of God.
• Understanding gives us an awareness and intuitive discernment of the truth. Enables us to see clearly the mysteries of faith
• Knowledge perfects the virtue of hope and it enables us to discover the will of God in all things.
• Counsel sharpens prudence and it warns us of the deceits of evil.
• Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Counsel are the four gifts that refers to the intellectual virtues.
