• Liberal feminists believe the way to gain equality is through legal and political change, it will take time but it's getting better.
• All feminists believe that there is a fundamental division in society between men and women.
• Feminists also say that most of early sociological studies of the family used all male samples and paid little attention to women and their roles. - mainstream bias (Marx, Engels, Murdock)
• Liberal feminists believe the way to address inequality between the sexes is through changing attitudes and progressive legislation, a "march of progress"
