  • Start of the Play
    1. Feeder/Striker tosses the ball to the server, who has to keep one foot in the circle while kicking the ball over
    2. A point is awarded even if the ball touches the net and lands within the court
    3. The Regu (team) that wins a point continues to serve
    4. Each Regu is allowed up to 3 touches before returning the ball, which can touch the head, knees, chest, or feet
  • Winning the Game/Scoring
    1. 2 sets of all points each
    2. Tiebreaker: 2 points lead, 25 points
    3. If each Regu wins 1 set, Tiebreaker - 15 points (3rd set)
  • Faults
    • Tekong jumping off the ground to make the service
    • Tekong not kicking the ball when making service
    • An inside player touches the net throwing the ball
    • The ball fails to cross to the opposition's half
    • The ball goes over the net but lands outside
    • The ball touches the arm
    • Holding/grabbing the ball
    • The ball touches ceiling/any other object
  • Basic Skills
    1. Service: Tekong lifts his right foot before doing the swing, gives signal to wedge the ball to the desired height, kicks the ball with the inside foot on an arc
    2. Toss: 14 phases in making the toss of the ball, bend the knees, throwing the ball, and follow-through, hold the ball with a near and focused on the Tekong
    3. Lure: basic stance/self-position
    4. Headed (Striker): used to pop up a ball that comes higher than the waist
    5. Block: used to ensure flaming made by repulsed
  • Games of Sepak Takraw should be played on a court that fits the regulation size and markings as set out by ITSAF (International Sepak Takraw Association Federation)
  • There is no rotation in defense position in Sepak Takraw
