  -SOME liberal christians say that sex before marriage is okay because the values of a cohabiting couple are the same as that of a married couple eg love, faithfulness and commitment.

  It is allowed- in 2022 law changed 5o 'no blame' divorce

  -around 40% of all marriages in the uk are second or subsequent marriages.
• Christian view on divorce and remarriage


  -RC are very strict and do not allow divorce. A couple can separate but not remarry in church while their partner is alive because the wedding vows say 'till death do us part' and bc marriage is a sacrament

  But they do allow annulment which is proving there was never really a marriage if you can prove there was no sex, a person was unaware of seriousness of marriage, or 1 partner married with no intention of having kids.

  -Protestants don't really like divorce but accept as sometimes it can be the lesser of two evils.

  The wedding vows suggest that divorce is wrong and they seriously abide by Jesus teaching.

  However they also remember forgiveness and not judging others so divorce and remarriage is allowed.

  - towards the PERSON who is homosexual they treat them with love and respect as all humans are created in the image of god.

  - wrong because heterosexual rships are what god intended and as God created as a and eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply. Which homosexual couples can't do.

  - gay xians are welcome but these churches are normally seen as homophobic and they may find it difficult to be accepted in them e.g Vicky Beeching.

  -practising homosexuality is a sin according to the bible BUT being attracted to someone of the same sex isn't a sin.

  - gay Xians are welcome into church but cannot practice homosexuality

  YES to attraction/rship but NO to same sex marriage

  E.g Church of Scotland, quakers

  - homosexual rships have the same values eg love, faithfulness as heterosexual r ships so discriminating against them is wrong.

  No to any method unless it is natural and god given eg available in the garden of Eden.

  Yes to any form which prevents sperm from meeting egg.

  No to any method that prevents a fertilised egg from implanting.

  nuclear families (2 parents and their children living together) make up 36% of thee population of households in the UK
• What do Xians think that families should be like

  - A family is made of two adults 1 male and 1 female (United to his wife and they become 1 flesh)

  - having children is expected (be fruitful and multiply)

  - it is accepted to remain single because Jesus never married.
• Roles of parents

  - married couples are expected to have children

  - provide their children with the necessities of life.

  - be good role models for their children.

  -'respect your father and mother' 10 commandments

  - when parents become old they are expected to look after them.
