• How to plants use glucose?


  • Respiration

  -> transfer energy from glucose enable to convert excess into other substances

  • Cellulose

  -> glucose converted into cellulose to make strong plant cell walls

  • Amino acids

  -> glucose is combined with nitrate ions to make amino acids which makes up protein

  • Oils and fats

  -> glucose turned into lipids and stored in seeds

  • Starch

  -> glucose is turned into starch and stored (insouble so doesnt absorb water when stored)

  All the chemical reactions that happen in a cell or in the body
• Word equations for aerobic (1) and anaerobic respiration (2).

  (1): glucose + oxygen -> carbon dioxide + water

  (2): glucose -> latic acid
• What is the equation for anaerobic respiration in plants and yeast cells?

  glucose -> ethonal + carbon dioxide
