What is homosexuality? 
Sexual attraction between people of the same sex.
Is it legal in UK?
Was illegal until 1967 when the age of consent for gay people changed to 21 and then lowered to 18 and then 16 by 2000.
Same-sex marriages can also take place now and civil partnerships were initially allowed too.
Where is it legal?
UK, Europe, USA, Canada.
Where is it illegal? 
India, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Nigeria.
Why does the law vary between cultures?
Religion - homosexuality is a sin.
In some cultures, homosexuality goes against the norm and is taboo. Results in bigotry and intolerance.
