Humanist beliefs

• Humanist have supported attempts to legalise euthanasia across UK - want to see reform of the law to also consider needs of people who are ‘permanently and incurably suffering.’
• Humanist uphold right to life, but don’t believe life should be prolonged in face of pointless suffering - ability to die with dignity, in manner if one’s own choosing, should be seen as fundamental human right.
• Peter Singer and speciesism - abortion and euthanasia should be matters of personal choice.
