Maxillary central incisor

Cards (12)

  • The distal outline is more convex than the mesial outline
  • The facial cervical outline is convex rootwise
  • The incisal ridge is straight but may have mamelons
  • The facial mesioincisal angle is sharp (almost 90 degrees) while the distoincisal edge is quite rounded
  • Lingually, it has marginal ridges mesially and distally, and an incisal ridge
  • There is a cingulum at the cervical region and a lingual fossa below it
  • The proximal surface has a triangular outline with the apex of the triangle located incisally and the base cervically
  • The proximal surfaces are smooth and convex
  • The contact area is near the mesioincisal angle mesially, and near the junction of the incisal edge and middle 1/3 of the crown distally (distal contact area is closer to the cervical region)
  • The cervical line on the proximal surface is curved incisally, and the curvature is shallower distally
  • The incisal outline is triangular, with the apex pointing lingually and the base of the triangle labially
  • The mesiodistal dimension is greater than the labiolingual
