  • Lingually, there are mesial and distal marginal ridges, a cervical cingulum, and a lingual fossa
  • The lingual fossa is more concave and circumscribed in lateral incisors than in central incisors
  • There may be a deep palatal pit in the depth of the lingual fossa
  • The cingulum is more marked in the central incisor compared to the lateral incisor
  • The contact area of the distal side is closer to the cervical region due to the curvature of the arch
  • Tip of the root is curved distally
