Compared to maxillary incisors, mandibular incisors have a smallermesiodistal dimension (less wide)
The facial outline has a trapezoid shape with a roundeddistoincisal angle
The incisal edge of the central incisor is horizontal
The incisal edge of the lateral incisor is tilted cervically at the distal side
The cingulum is less developed
The cingulum of the central incisor is centrally positioned
The cingulum of the lateral incisor is deviated distally
Proximally, the crown is more lingually inclined
The proximal outline is triangular
Proximally, the distal aspect has a shallower curved cervical line
Incisal outline is a diamond shape and the incisal ridge is more lingually inclined
The incisal ridge of the lateral incisor is tilted distally and lingually (as well as the whole tooth), allowing for it to follow the dental arch curvature
The mandibular lateral incisor is slightly larger than the central incisor and has a longer root, rounder distoincisal angle, and a mesial side that is longer than the distal side
The contact areas of the central incisor are at the same level
The contact areas in lateral incisors are not at the same level as the distal contact area is slightly cervically placed
