Security measures that are designed to deny access to unauthorized personnel (including attackers or even accidental intruders) from physically accessing a building, facility, resource, or stored information; and guidance on how to design structures to resist potentially hostile acts.
PHYSICAL SECURITY
It can be as simple as locked door or as elaborate as multiple layers of barriers, armed security guards and guardhouse placement.
PHYSICAL SECURITYPERFORMANCE GOAL
The goal is to deploy security resources to reduce the potential of sabotage, theft/pilferage, trespass, espionage, criminal intrusion.
DETECT
Using human, animal or electronic means, alerting security personnel to possible threats and attempts of intrusion/unauthorized entry into the facility shortly after the time of occurrence.
ASSESSMENT
Using video surveillance, security patrols or fixed security post, assist in determining the size and intention of the unauthorized intrusion.
COMMANDANDCONTROL
Employing diverse and secure communication to ensure all available countermeasures in preventing sabotage, theft/pilferage and other criminal activity.
DELAY
Employing security procedures through the use of active and passive measures such as barriers, K-9 and security guards.
ACTIVE
security system would be a motion detector. This system picks up even the slightest of movements, and triggers an alarm to the control room.
A PASSIVE system
such as CCTV camera placed at the entrance to a residential complex. This will record the number-plates and capture a facial image of every person entering the complex. It does not alert security to any breaches, nor does it send silent signals. Rather, it keeps visual record of all parties which can be referred back to in a situation where an incident or breach of security has occurred.
RESPONSE
Employing trained and properly equipped security personnel means detection and delaying of intruder must be accomplished until the response team arrives.

Procedures that are necessary to establish and or maintain adequate an organization’s physical security posture.
These measures must be coordinated and integrated into the company’s structure.
Measures are a combination of passive and active systems, devices and security personnel employed to protect security interest from perceived possible threats.
PHYSICALSECURITYMEASURES
New measures now in effect employ AUTOMATED INFORMATION SYSTEMS.
When planning physical security, the security officer must know what must be protected. In general all equipment, information, operational programs are housed together.
Computer storage areas requires special design. They must be guarded against water damage. It is recommended that it should be placed in the centre of the building.
Heavy and solid doors must be utilized to ensure tight lead security. Windows must be avoided to prevent forcible entry.
