almsgiving= giving money to charities, religious institutions, or the poor
sadaqah= charity, giving to the poor, helping others
nisab= the amount of income a muslim needs to have before they need to pay zakah
zakah= charity, giving to the poor, 2.5% of wealth
Importance of zakah:
reminds giver that god is the owner of everything in the world and that everything should be used in a way that pleases God
money and wealth are only on loan to people amd god has given them responsibility of using them properly
significance of zakah for muslims:

Khums tax= 20% of income, paid to the poor on business profits
