  • So, first of all, what is soft power? (a term created by Joseph nye in 1990).  Soft power is a persuasive approach to international relations, typically involving the use of economic or cultural influence. 
    Hollywood is the historical center of movie production and home to major film studios, and production companies. 
  • I’ve divided my presentation into two main parts
    Firstly, we will look at the political dimension of the film industry. Then in the second part, we will see how the film industry reflects soft power and contributes to economic efficiency
  • Have you ever wondered what would happen if the US didn't have so much power in its film industryPersonally, I've never thought about it because Hollywood is an integral part of the United States. 
  • In this talk, I would like to focus on the ways in which the American film industry contributes to the spread of American soft power. 
  • The set includes a speech from Truman highlighting post-war policies, a film analysis of "Rocky 4" focusing on Cold War themes, a poster for the film "The Pursuit of Happyness", and an article from The Guardian about product placement in the movie "Barbie".
