BACTERIA

• antibodies kill bacteria not viruses
• antibodies are difficult to make them target bacteria without damaging our cells
• whole course of antibiotics must be taken to kill all bacteria or resistant bacteria survives and multiples
• bacteria reproduces rapidly evolving very quickly which increases the population of resistant bacteria strain
• drugs are tested on cell tissue, then animals, then healthy volunteers
• blind trial- test group are given drug control group are given placebo
• double blind trial- doctors dont know which is which
