• Blood flow through the heart

  1. Deoxygenated blood enters right atrium via vena cava

  2. Blood is pumped into right ventricle

  3. Blood goes through pulmonary artery and becomes oxygenated in lungs

  4. Oxygenated blood goes through pulmonary vein to left atrium

  5. Blood flows from left atrium to left ventricle and out to the body
• Tricuspid valve
• Pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood
• Pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood
• Cardiac output = Heart rate x Stroke volume
• Oxygenated blood goes through the body
• The heart has four chambers - two atria and two ventricles
