    It is a "necessary evil" as its needed to avoid disaster but it has the potential to remove individual liberty and should therefore be limited

    the belief that individuals are of equal value and that they should be treated impartially and fairly by society. This is done through foundational and formal equality and equality of opportunity
  • Rationalism (Human nature)

    Humans are rational creatures and capable of reason and logic. According to liberals this underpins the ability to define ones own best interests and to make their own moral choices thus creating a progressive society
  • Individualism (society)

    The prioritisation of the individual in a society rather than society as a whole.
  • Freedom/liberty (human nature/society)

    The ability and right to make decisions in your own interests based on your view of human nature.
