  • Research Proposal
A guide to help a researcher to focus and define the necessary things to do with the research problem
  • INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR (ISEF) laid out rules on how you will write your research proposal or research plan
  • Title
    • It must be specific and well defined
    • Stating the dependent and independent variables
    • Scientific names are italicized and enclosed in parenthesis

  • Research Objectives or Hypothesis
    • Research question is a broad question that shows what you are pondering about
    • Hypothesis is a specific prediction, an educated guess about the outcome of your experiment based on background research and the variables to be tested
  • Materials
    • This section should be written in a bullet-point format, Break down your experiment into phases for to determine all the materials you will need (example preparing pots with soil, planting plants /growth period, etc.)
    • If you need specialized equipment, be sure to Include it in this section
  • Procedure
List down the steps you will follow to carry out your experiment

    • With the type of data that you will be gathering will make you decide the best types of analysis
  • Risk Assessment
    • With any experiment, it is importaht to make considerations for your safety and the safety of your test subjects and the environment
    • It is importantto get a Supplemental Packet in the ISEF office at school to help you write and the approval Risk Assessment
