    • Death is not the end, but a change from one state of being to another. ​

    • Ultimate direct self-communication of God to the individual person.

    • Person possessing the beatific vision = member of redeemed humanity in the communion of saints and reaches perfect salvation
  • BEATIFIC VISION:
    • Human experiences joy, happiness from seeing God perfectly, not imperfectly through faith
  • PURGATORY
    • A place where a person’s soul can be cleansed from sin
  • PUGATORY:
    • Catholicism accepts people are imperfect

    • Cleansing mistakes is necessary to be fully in the presence of God. ​
    • A state of hope (why Catholics pray for those who have died to purify them from sin to be in God’s presence)
