    • white blood cells are stimulated to produce the complementary antibodies to the antigen
    • during the primary infection the complementary antibodies are increased slowly and peaks at around day 10 then slowly decreases
    • during the second exposure, the relevant antibodies are produced rapidly and correctly to prevent infection
