  • Policies could have just been broad aims rather than actual plan
  • Supports idea it was situational or external factors caused takeover of these areas
  • Nazis relatively unprepared for each foreign policy more - suggests not planned at all

  • Only had 15-18,000 men. Blitzkrieg suited smaller wars
  • Weakness of league of nations
    • didn’t have own army so not seen as a threat by nazis
    • most nations acted in own self-interest
    • needed agreements for majority to act
    • not all countries part of league (Japan withdrew ignoring LoN protest)
