  1. County court
  2. Crown court
• What work do they do?

  • They hear a wider range of issues in the County courts
  • (E.g. family law, property law disputes)
  • Handle cases in the Crown court
• What makes someone eligible to be appointed?

  • Must have been a barrister or solicitor for at least 7 years
  • Ideally have served as a District Judge or a recorder
