Lymph vessels

• Lymoh vessels are slightly larger and more permeable than blood capillaries
• Both proteins and disease causing organisms can easily pass through the walls of the lymph capillaries
• Lymph is moved through the lymph vessels by the contraction of smooth muscle and skeletal muscle, as well as valves
• The main function is to return fluid from the circulatory system back to blood vessels
