  2. During reading stage - Reader makes predictions as they read and then confirms or rejects the prediction

  3. Responding - Occurs when the reader discusses the elements of the story, asks questions, and/or compares it to another text
• Reading Techniques


  • Scanning - Involves looking for specific information
  • Skimming - Get the main ideas of the material before looking for certain details
  • Intensive - Comprehensive reading of all the heading techniques, the main goal is to retain information for long-term
  • Extensive - Focuses on reading for pleasure, choose your own material, pace, as well as how you'd interpret the content
