    In a position paper, sources must be cited in order to give your readers an easier time evaluating whether your ideas are logical and evidence-based.. Remember that writing a position paper entails providing solid evidence as bases for your stand on an issue, which you will advance in your paper.

    1. Identify a problem
    2. Recognize what has already been done in the past
    3. Point out where efforts are still lacking
    4. Suggest your solutions
    5. Use evidence and arguments to prove your point
  • Identify a problem:
    as with a problem-solution essay, you need to identify something that can be improved. Mention this, explain why it is a problem, and analyze which still needs improvement
  • Recognize what has already been done in the past:
    A good and fair assessment of a problem gives due recognition to the previously implemented solutions.
    You need to mention this so that your solution will not be a repetition r a rehash of those that were tried in the past.
    Remember: yours needs to introduce something new
  • Point out where efforts are still lacking:
    After recognizing what has been done, identify the gap.
    Do not be surprised if you find out that the one that's really lacking is a viable solution. Cases like this happen. IF this is the case, you really need to propose a more solid and attainable solution to address the problem
  • Gap is what's missing in the efforts to address the problem
  • Suggest your solution:
    Present your ideas on how to improve the situation.
    Remember to make the solution realistic and doable with concrete targets to show that the solution is effectivee
  • Use evidence and arguments to prove your point:
    For you proposed solution, you need to present your arguments and evidences in order to substantiate your claims that your solution has the potential t actually work
    You can cite occasions in which your proposed solution has actually worked in another relevant case.
