  • Systemic Circulation- The pathway that carries oxygen rich blood from the heart to all parts of the body with the exception of the lungs. This occurs on the left side of the heart.
  • Pulmonary Circulation- The pathway where oxygen poor blood flows from the heart to the lungs for re-oxygenation and back to the heart. This occurs on the right side of the heart.
  • Diffusion - The process where molecules move from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
  • heart rate - the number of times the heart beats per minute
  • factors effecting heart rate - age, movement, temp, fitness, stress and heart problems
