  • Indoor recreation
    Activities you do inside your home or in a building, in your comfort zone. Examples include playing board games, exercising in a gym, practicing yoga, swimming in an indoor pool, or engaging in arts and crafts.
  • Outdoor recreation

    Activities pursued in a natural, rural/urban, or open space outside the confines of buildings, usually large land area that is close to nature or open for public usage. Examples include hiking in forests, camping in national parks, fishing in lakes, cycling on trails, picnicking in parks, kayaking on rivers, rock climbing on cliffs, skiing in mountains, geocaching with GPS, birdwatching in habitats, nature photography, mountain biking on trails, stargazing in dark skies, facilitating connections with nature and physical activity.
  • General purpose of both indoor and outdoor recreation

    • Improve skills development
    • Lessen stress (mental health)
    • Boost self-esteem and confidence
    • Enhance environmental awareness
    • Encourage regular exercise and movement to promote overall fitness
