    1.   STIMULUS is a regulated variable and info that is outside of its normal range
    2. That info is picked up by a RECEPTOR OR SENSOR
    3. Receptor sends this info to CONTROL CENTER
    4.   CONTROL CENTER determines if variable is out of its normal range

    6.   EFFECTORS cause physiological response that return the variable back to its normal range
    7.   Variable returns to normal, stimulus is no longer present
