  • Vocal music: visayan folksongs are written in simple melodies. Such as • Pakitong-kitong (a cebu folksong with unknown composer) • Matud nila (a cebu love song originally composed by ben zubiri) • Si pilemon (a cebu folksong composed by yoyoy villame) • Ili-ili tulog anay (an ilonggo lullaby wirh hiligaynon lyrics) • Dandansoy (an ilonggo folksong which despicts a woman loving a man who is not loyal • Balitaw (one of the popular musical styles in visayas region. It is a song-and-dance debate that talks about love and marriage)
  • Instrumental music: the people in the visayas are known to be very skillful. Their musical instruments are made from various materials such as bamboo, wood, and animal skin. Some of the instrumental groups are: • Rondalla (Banduria, laud, octavina, guitar, and strong bass) • Tultugan (an indegenous term for bamboo drum) this festival is being done yearly to promote the bamboo ensemble and its music
