  • (1) Making salts aim:
    Aim to produce a dry and soluble salt from an insoluble oxide/carbonate
  • (1) Making salts - method 1-4:

    1. Measure 20cm3 of dilute sulfuric acid and pour into a beaker
    2. Heat acid gently using a Bunsen burner
    3. Add copper oxide (metal oxide) until it’s in excess
    4. Filter using filter paper and funnel the solution to remove the excess copper oxide
  • (1) Making salts - method 5-8:

    5. Pour solution into evaporating basin
    6. Place on a water bath / over a Bunsen burner until crystals start to form / it reaches it’s crystallisation point
    7. Leave the evaporating basin in a cool place to crystallise
    8. Gently pat the crystals dry between two pieces of filter paper
