  • Neutralisation [Higher Tier]
    1. Measure 25cm³ of sodium hydroxide into conical flask
    2. Place conical flask on white tile
    3. Fill burette with sulphuric acid using funnel
    4. Record initial reading of acid in burette
    5. Add 5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator
    6. Slowly add acid drop-by-drop near endpoint
    7. Close burette when colour change occurs
    8. Record final reading of acid in burette and calculate titre
    9. Repeat until concordant results
    10. Present results in table and calculate mean titre
    11. Calculate moles of sodium hydroxide used
    12. Calculate moles of sulphuric acid
    13. Use formula to work out concentration of sulphuric acid
