  • Tawhid

  • Jibril
    always brings good news. He is mentioned in both the Qur’an and the Hadith He revealed Allah’s words (the Qur’an) to Muhammad on the Night of Power so he is known as the Angel of Revelation. He played a vital role in communicating the final version of Islam to humanity. The Angel Jibril appeared to Maryam, who in Christianity is known as Mary. Jibril told her she was pregnant with Isa (Jesus). Jibril knows the beauty of Paradise but also how hard it is to get there. He has seen Hell and knows that no one would want to be sent there.
  • Mikhail
    Also known as Michael, the Angel Mika’il is a friend to humanity and known as the giver of rain and food. He is believed to reward people who do good deeds. He asks Allah to forgive people’s sins as he is the Angel of Mercy. Both the Angel Jibril and the Angel Mika’il will be present on the Day of Judgement.

  • Ibrahim
    'God took Ibrahim as a friend
    is seen as the father of the Arab people. He refused to worship idols (people other than Allah who might be greatly admired) and he rebuilt the Ka’aba following the great flood. Ibrahim had his faith tested, which teaches Muslims that they must be prepared to submit to Allah in the same way. He is known as Abraham in Judaism and Christianity.
  • Adam
    was created as the first human and given the role of khalifah Muslims learn about their role on Earth from the example of Adam. Adam was forgiven for his sin and some believe he built the first Ka’aba He was given knowledge to pass on to the rest of the human race.

  • Holy books
    "This is the scripture of which there is no doubt"Nor could this Qur’an have been devised by anyone other than God. It is a confirmation of what was revealed before it and an explanation of the Scripture. Let there be no doubt about it, it is from the Lord of the Worlds.
  • Tawrat
    The Tawrat (also known as the Torah in Judaism) was given to the prophet Musa. It is seen as the main Jewish holy book. It contains the Ten Commandments which are key rules on how to live life. The Tawrat also contains other good teachings and laws. This book is important to Muslims because the Qur’an says it contains the “judgement of Allah”: We revealed the Torah [Tawrat] with guidance and light, and the prophets, who had submitted to God, judged according to it for the Jews (Qur’an, Surah 5:44).
  • Zabur (Psalms)
    This book was given to the Prophet Dawud. It is also known as the Psalms of David. It is important within the Christian Bible and the Jewish Tanakh , as it contains prayers, poems and songs intended to inspire people. "We have sent revelation to you [Muhammad] as We did to Noah and the prophets after him"

  • The inmate
    Imamate is a Shi’a belief that all imams should be spiritual descendants of the Prophet Muhammad. Shi’a Muslims believe that imams are leaders appointed by God to be Muhammad’s successors.

  • Predestination
    "Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed"
    Allah has decided everything that will happen in the world and in people’s lives, which is also called predestination. Most Muslims believe that humans cannot choose to do something if Allah has not already chosen that path for them. Some Muslims like this idea and find it reassuring that if a bad thing happens it must be part of God’s plan.

  • Id-ul-Adha

    the commemoration of sacrifice and marks the end of Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Makkah.
  • What prophet does Id-ul-Adha celebrate 

    Ibrahim- Muslims remember the trials of the prophet Ibrahim, who was asked to make a great sacrifice for the sake of God.
  • How Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Adha
    1. Muslim men and women attend morning prayers at local mosques
    2. Service includes communal prayers and a sermon teaching importance of obeying Allah and Ibrahim's lesson
    3. Muslims slaughter an animal (sheep, camel or goat) and divide the meat into three parts: keep one, give one to relatives/neighbours, give one to the poor
