Elizabeth Fry (Quaker Christian - C19) visited Newgate Prison - London (1813), then devoted her life to improving UK prison conditions as it was important for prison reformers
Felt educating prison reformers was vital.
Famous for teaching female prisoners to read and write, and holding Bible readings for them.
