Traditionally
minister who works in a
non-religious

pastoral care
for the people (e.g. the prisoners, pupils or patients)
More recently, chaplains don't have to be
religious.

= Give counselling, support through
rehabilitation

Prisoners
can share including fear, guilt, loneliness or worries about their family.
Chaplain
= contact for the person’s family.
Chaplain can help inmates
re-enter
the community after their sentence, and liaise with
parole officers.
