• Advantage 1 - to find better food such as younger, tastier leaves or fruits.
• Advantage 2 - helpful in

  discriminating emotional (blush) states & sexual signals (red rump of the female monkey in estrus)
• Advantage 3 - We might even use color to track large numbers of objects (such as members of our favorite football team)
