This means forgiveness. It's the idea of being saved from sin or evil. Scrooge changed his ways at the end of the novel. He was a cold hearted man but he then transformed into a generous man. The ghosts gave Scrooge a second chance to change his ways. This shows that humans have the opportunity to behave in kinder ways towards each other. It also shows that there's redemption for the rich people, factory owners and business people if they change their ways towards the poor
