  • Stare decisis means let the "decision stand" and courts are bound by decisions by higher courts.
  • The Supreme Court is bound by the European Court of Justice on EU Issues, but it binds all other courts below it.
  • The Court of Appeal (Civil Division) are bound by the Supreme Court and itself but with exceptions and it binds all lower courts.

  • The High Court is bound by the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and the Divisional Courts and binds all lower courts.
