Social change

• Social change is when a minority manages o change the opinion of the majority.
• The minority are believed to have high internal locus of control because they resist the pressure to conform/obey to the majority.
• Committed minorities, who risk themselves for their cause have effect on the majority through augmentation principle because the majority will value the importance of the cause because the minority are risking themselves for it.
• Once the minority begins convicting people, the snowball effect occurs meaning that more and more people adopt the minority opinion until the minority becomes majority.
• When the minority becomes majority, social cryptomnesia which means that the previously minority opinion is now the prevalent opinion and people don't remember where it originates from.
