  • Evaluation - strengths/weaknesses 

    +complex issues: enables researchers to explore complex issues that may be difficult to investigate using other methods.
    +time and effort: some PP may not be willing to spend time and effort so can limit the number of people taking place.
  • Evaluation - weaknesses
    -demand characteristics: interviews are used before and at the end. PP may work out the aim so purposely give different answers in second interview.
    -need for training: researchers with specialist skills and needed to create the questions on the spot in a unstructured question.
    -Researcher effects: researchers presence may affect behaviour of PP.
