  The phenotype refers to the physical appearance of the organism.

  A dominant allele is an allele that masks the effect of the recessive allele.
• What is a recessive allele?

  A recessive allele is an allele that is prevented from working by the dominant allele.
• What is a monohybrid cross?

  A monohybrid cross is a genetic cross between 2 organisms, where one gene is studied.
