• We uphold the truth when our thoughts correspond to the reality we experience and are not in error
• studying well and knowing more about our experiences, we gain a better grasp of reality and are empowered to solve everyday problems and difficulties
• Education is a way of valuing truth

• The eighth commandment upholds the value of truth by positively commanding us to respect the good name of others
• God reminds His People that the very life of freedom of the accused person depends so much on the truthfulness of persons summoned to testify in a court of law
