Catholic Responses to Evil

• • God has given people free will and shown people they should obey the Ten Commandments and follow Jesus' example. (It's up the humans to follow God's instruction)
• • God has a plan for lives people may not always understand, but Christians should trust and have faith in God's plan. (God will never give us more suffering than we can cope with.)
• • God wants people to follow Jesus' example and help sufferers. (God's reasoning is beyond human understanding)
• • For many Catholics, suffering is a way to bring them closer to understanding Jesus' suffering, and bring about a greater good.
• • Catholic's pray for and try to help sufferers
• • Evil and suffering = preparation for Heaven as it gives people a chance to become better and improve their souls, to be rewarded with Heaven.
