Treatment of Criminals

• • Some feel prison should be a place of isolation and punishment, and prisoners should have few if any privileges (e.g. such as televisions or computers)
• • Others think prison should be place of rehab and reform, believing prisoners should be helped to address root cause off criminal behaviour and learn responsibility.
• • Prisoners are entitled to humane treatment that shows respect for their human rights.
• • Many complaints about overcrowding, poor treatment and a lack of access to important services which doesn't help prisoners to achieve rehab and reform.
